Ralph and I stopped in Beckley, West Virginia. These pictures are from the Coal Miners Exhibition. We both decided we were lucky to not have been living here during those years. It was a very hard life.
Tools used in the mines
One room school in the Coal Town. Boys only came school until they were old enough to work in the mines.

These were real buildings from a mountain homestead. Except for the electrical meter on the side of the building.
