The Secret Recipe

Before leaving Tennessee we had to make one more stop.  The Bush Bean Visitor’s Center in Chestnut Hill, TN.  The Visitor’s Center is located in the original A.J. Bush & Company general store founded in 1897.  There is a museum area that tells the Bush family history.  It gives you a glimpse of the past and the modern methods of processing and canning beans.  You can stand on a scale and it will give your weight in beans.  Who doesn’t want to know that???  There is a family café.  Ralph and I ate there and it was excellent.  We spoke with some of the other customers and everyone was happy.  There is a general store where you can buy lots of beans!!  Jay was not there so Duke told me the secret recipe for the baked beans.  It’s too hard to make so I’ll just keep buying the cans.

The recipe is a closely guarded secret.

They have so much more than just baked beans.  Just the colorful labels would make me want to buy a can of beans.
