Ralph and I decided we would make a stop in Wilmington, Ohio because we are from Wilmington, North Carolina. Well we don’t follow the big stops where most people would go, we go where we feel a connection. Ralph said he wanted to harass (just kidding) the police department there so they could exchange patches. No other reason to go there but we are glad we did. Such a cute little town and friendly people.
I think painting is an incredible talent but imagine trying to take your idea in your head and putting it on the side of a building. These next pictures are painted by Jason Morgan. Actually when I walked by he was on the scaffold working and I did not bother him. Now I wish I had. I think he’s amazing!
Can you find Ralph in the next two pictures?
The Murphy Theater getting some renovations.
I went crazy taking pictures of the inside and when I went outside I was going to cross the street and take a picture of the building and forgot. I only have one brain cell and it’s on vacation most of the time. I borrowed this outside picture from pintrest but the rest are mine. In 1998 county commissioners decided to restore the interior of the courthouse. The renovation took 2-1/2 years to complete.
Wilmington Ohio has a Quilt Trail. They had painted 200 frames and put them on the barns in the county. This is a picture of one of the quilt paintings on the barn. There is also geocaching trail that is located along the quilt trail also.
