We decided last minute to go to the Fleetwood National Rally held in Decatur, Indiana. It was held at the Bellmont High School. We couldn’t stay there since they were booked up. It was all dry camping and it was going to be warm so that didn’t appeal to us anyway. No sweating for me. We stayed in Van Wert, Ohio. It was called Van Wert County Fairgrounds and we had full hookups and it was only about 18 miles from Decatur. The neat thing is the campground is right next to the track where they have harness racing. Every morning someone would be out on the track running horses. They were also having their Peony Festival that weekend also.
Rally kick-off. Would we attend another one? Not sure. We will have to think about it. Some things were really good. The kick-off with the service members, the food. Some things were not so good but we won’t go into that.
Fleetwood’s first motorhome. 1969 Pace Arrow.
Karaoke night at the rally. Ralph has never met a microphone that he didn’t like.
During the rally the town of Decatur had a Sculpture Tour with strolling musicians, wine tasting, band and the unveiling of the 2015 Sculptures.
We took a tour of the Fleetwood Plant on Monday, thinking that everyone would be gone but it seems like everyone had the same idea we had. It was very interesting but long. The Wynn’s old lease was sitting outside so I’m sharing the picture of it.
