Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park is a few miles inland from the ocean. It is densely forested with huge ancient trees and contains seven percent of all the old-growth redwoods left in the world. There are 10,000 acres to explore and they have lots of trails to walk through and take it all in. There are guided ranger tours that are very interesting and you can tell they love their redwoods. Ralph was the model, just to show you the size of these giants.
The campground in the park has no hook-ups so I call that roughing it but the place is magical. I seen my first banana slug and one was enough to last me a lifetime.
